Dallas, Texas: Sevis Systems, the leading developer of wireless backhaul optimization and acceleration technology, today announced that Christoph Fitih has joined the company as Vice President, Sales for Africa.
With over 18 years of multi-national and multi-cultural experience in the technology sector, including services to mobile operators and rural communities, Mr. Fitih will be responsible for the design and implementation of the company’s business development and sales strategy across Africa.
“Christoph has a track record of developing strong customer relationships and delivering innovative solutions for mobile carriers in Africa” said Tim Peyla, Sevis’ Vice President, Global Business Development. “His expertise and understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing mobile and satellite operators will be essential, as we capitalize on the use of new, next-generation high throughput satellites in time for the much-needed expansion of mobile 3G and LTE services in the region. I look forward to working closely with Christoph to deliver the improved economics and performance that allow African mobile network operators to expand voice and data coverage.”
Prior to joining Sevis, Mr. Fitih served as VP, EMEA Region at TECPL, and was a member of the management team that created this venture through an agreement with a major satellite company to promote, market, and sell 2G/3G Small Cell Solutions. He is also a member in the steering committee for the first Google.org ICT Centers in rural Africa managed by Camfed; a leading NGO dedicated to eradicating poverty in Africa through the empowerment of young women.
Commenting on his appointment, Christoph Fitih said “I am excited to join Sevis during such transitional times for both the wireless and satellite industries. The intersection of trends taking place simultaneously at these two industries presents enormous opportunities for African mobile networks to expand voice and data services cost-effectively, empowered by Sevis’ wireless and satellite-aware optimization and acceleration technology.”
Mr. Christoph Fitih studied History and Philosophy of Science and technology at the University College London. Being currently based in Ghana, Mr. Fitih will be key as Sevis continues to expand its on-the-ground business and technical presence globally.
