Mobile Backhaul Market Entry

Sevis Systems to Launch Innovative Mobile Backhaul Solution at Satellite 2009 Conference
6000 Series Platform Will Provide Both Optimization and Enhanced Applications on A.bis Links

PLANO, TX – (March, 17 2009) – Sevis Systems, a global provider of advanced mobile solutions, announced today the introduction and General Availability of its new 6000 Series mobile backhaul products.  Sevis will launch their new mobile backhaul offering at the Satellite 2009 Conference (Booth 1319) from March 24-27 at the Washington Convention Center, Washington, D.C.

The 6000 Series is purpose-built for mobile backhaul applications and includes redundant power supplies, hot swappable IO modules, and enhanced clocking for IP backhaul.  The products support all GSM voice codecs, provide bandwidth optimization on all traffic types including A.bis, A.ter, A, E, GPRS, and EDGE, and are designed to improve overall performance and quality of service over both satellite and terrestrial infrastructures.  The 6000 Series is also highly scalable, supporting configurations of up to 4E1’s, 10 E1’s, and 20 E1’s in a single 1U chassis.

“Our rich feature set combined with our ability to scale into small and large locations gives mobile operators worldwide a solution tailored to their needs and enables them to more closely match their CAPEX outlay with the OPEX savings that are generated via our advanced optimization technology,” said Steve Samaniego, President of Sevis Systems.

Additionally, the 6000 Series offers mobile operators an innovative industry-first in that it will integrate the high-value signaling applications which Sevis currently deploys using its core-network SS7 application platform.

“While optimizing backhaul traffic is extremely important to a mobile operator, Sevis knows tremendous value can be added to an operator’s network through the use of enhanced backhaul applications,” said Mr. Samaniego.  “Sevis’ expertise as signaling innovators puts us in a unique position to implement our application-based approach in the access network.”

Applications related to traffic shaping and thresholding, SMS delivery and offloading, and fraud control are just a few of the innovative applications that Sevis’s 6000 Series will provide to its customers.
