Fraud is a significant problem costing carriers billions and consuming substantial network resources. Illegal SIM Boxes alone (GSM Gateways) impact carriers on the order of billions annually while accounting for as much as 20% of a provider's terminating traffic.
Particularly difficult to control is fraud that originates "off-net," a good example being inbound calls generated by illegal SIM Boxes residing on another carrier's network. Stopping off-net fraud is problematic because carriers typically do not have a control system in place that can stop the fraud before it can establish a connection and consume resources. As a result, carriers often have to rely on the originating carrier to intervene, an approach that is unreliable at best.
Sevis' Active Fraud Eliminator (AFE) enhances a carrier's ability to control fraud. AFE resides transparently, without a point code, on any SS7 link and intercepts and controls fraudulent calls in near-real-time based on "automated blacklists" generated by, for example, an operator's SIM Box Test Call Service or Fraud Management System or based on "manual blacklists" created by a carrier's Fraud Department.
With AFE, you can enhance your ability to control "off-net" fraud at your network perimeter and, if desired, also "on-net" fraud originating within your own network.
